Lindsay Hoover and Simeon Schnapper, Managing Partners of JLS Fund, an early-stage plant fund focused on novel molecule and whole plant drug development and discovery; treatment centers and clinical networks; cultivation, formulation, extraction and processing; and supporting infrastructure are this week’s guests on The Green Rush!
JLS, a $50M fund and one of the first funds in the space leading similar investment charges. We talk with them about the burgeoning psychedelics space and what elements of the industry have caught their attention. We also cover their fundraising efforts during the COVID-19 crisis, their thoughts on the wave of psychedelic companies listing on public exchanges, JLS’ portfolio and what’s exciting them the most about the space.
This was a really fun conversation that goes into great detail on the growth of psychedelics and how seasoned investors are monitoring the space. Lindsay and Simeon are extremely knowledgeable not just on what the space looks like today but how exciting it could become in the near and long-term.
So don’t sit back, lean forward and enjoy!
Simeon Schnapper, Managing Partner
Simeon is a life-long student of Psychedelics and has a keen awareness of the cultural regulatory and the nascent venture landscape of the mushrooming industry. His introduction to these came 30 years ago in Chicago where he studied with Dr. Robert E.L. Masters and Jean Huston Ph.D. Simeon founded the world’s first Visionary Art Gallery and Medical Marijuana Dispensary praised as a paradigm shift at the very beginning of the end of prohibition. Simeon advises several psychedelic startups, is a founding partner at JLS a plant medicine fund, is an Aspen Institute Fellow, a member of NYMS (New York Mycology Society) and TTI (Top Tier Impact).
